Need help with rifle barrel identification.

An 83 year old customer of mine wants me to buy a rifle from him that he built. He made the stock himself.
It's a 30-06 with a Mauser action and glass bedded barrel. I've looked the rifle over but I can't find a manufacturer's name on the barrel or action, the gentleman can't remember the manufacturer, and I'm reluctant to separate the action and the stock. There is what appears to be a makers mark which I am unfamiliar with. It is an interlocked C P. Can anyone here shed some light on this? Thanks.

    Here are some pics:

looks like an interarms action.. the cp is kinda puzzling though. I bet u can remove th action w no probs. th glass bedding should stay w th stock.. u dont wanna buy a rifle & find out th underside is rusted up..bet its a shooter..good luck..

        optics are a Bausch & Lomb BalFor A series .... 4x32 scope
weighs 9 ounces and 12 1/4" long , 3 different reticles were offered

W and E adjustments are done thru the mount system

B&L were out of Rochester, NY as that model sold for $75.00 new back in the late 50's. You could finance them for $5.00 a month

i'm trying to figure out action and barrel stampings

does the action say anything like ... Interarms , Mark X ... Alexandria, VA / Manchestor , England

Just got home and separated the action from the stock. Here's what it said on the bottom of the barrel:
