No doubt glocks are superior for day in day out use, reliability, mag capacity, cost effictiveness, ease of parts replacement and many other factors. But a nice 1911 is a work of art. The trigger pull on a good 1911 is pretty much as good as it gets in the world of semi auto pistols, a real thing of beauty. Also to almost everyone the grip angle and the way they shoot is very natural almost like an extension of your arm. I also agree that everyone should have at least one. I cleaned my baby last night.

My oldest colt is 100 years old as well. A classic in every sense of the word. Form, functionality, reliability, power and accuracy. What's not to like about an original colt 1911!

My first .45 ACP pistol was an XD. Then I tried a Colt .45 1911 and I no longer have the XD, saving money for my next Colt

A 1911 addiction can be serious if you let it take control.

Humper needs to post up his collection of 1911's... IF they could talk it would provide a great history lesson....

I used to have a Gold Cup set up for pin shooting and comps. but sold it long ago..
