Then there is no adjusting in a quick situation. You kind of get your closer firing solutions memorized after a while. But not every scope can do this kind of stuff.
Something else to think about is a lot of folks don't know how to break mil dot reticles down into 10th's of a mil. They assume that the hold off's are in "one complete mil equations," 1 mil or 2 mil.... when actually it is 1.3 or .8, etc.

Once you learn to break down with practice (usually by range estimation which is a whole other ballpark) you can cover a lot of ground using hold offs with a mil-dot reticle and a MOA turret. Just helps to know conversions

    1 mil = 3.6 inches at 100 Yards
    7.2" @ 200Y
    10.8" @ 300Y
    14.4" @ 400Y
    18" @ 500Y
    21.6 " @ 600Y
    25.2" @ 700Y
    28.8: @ 800Y
    32.4" @ 900Y
    36" @ 1000Y

    Confusing yet?

    Just trying to help out....

200 yd zero Then you can dial down for 100. With a 100yd zero you will be limited with how far you can dial with one turn of the turret. Go play with it you will see what I am tlking about. 2 clicks should dial you down from 200 to 100 depending on your click value.

I guess I should have mentioned I can do the same with my NF with MOAR reticle in moa/moa. Thats why I don't mind holdovers at some shorter distances.

I'm noticing sight in distance is really just nothing personal preference.
