    Savage rifle bullet eject problems

I bought a brand new savage model 12 varmint in .22-250 last summer. I have never owned a Savage before but have only heard good things. I feel like this gun I have has bullet ejection problems. For instance, I have a Ruger .223 and when you shoot and bring the bolt back to load another bullet in, the empty casing you just shot springs out of there like a semi auto gun would.

This Savage though, when you shoot and pull the bolt back the empty casing just kind of falls out and barely gets out of the way in time to load another bullet. If it falls out any slower I might as well buy a single shot.

I was just wondering if there is something wrong with the gun or is that how Savages are.

    Thanks

My model 12 will eject a shell with no problem. They are made on a longer action so maybe you need to slide a little harder than if it was say a Remington short action. Maybe the longer bolt throw is throwing you off a little.

I can't help myself. That sounds like a Savage.

small search seems to show its a problem with the model 12. savage will send extractor springs though.
