Bought a new AR today so my old one is for sale...
The lower and upper is Areo Precision, M16 bolt, trigger/hammer job, recrowned barrel, polished feed ramp, polished speed hammer, low profile rear sight and removed front sight tapered pins and added screws. Maybe more. Don't remember all...
4 shot group @ 5/8" with a 5th flyer making the group 7/8".
No fancy hardware. Yet...

The lease I'm on this year is "thick". So when I'm not bow hunting I thought a short fast handling rifle with good optics would be the ticket. Below are the fruits of my search. A 1968 Winchester Mod 70 Full length stock with a 20in bbls with a VX III 1.5 x 5 Loupold scope. The rifle is relatively rare. It's chambered in 30-06. I'm planning to just shoot good ol 180gr Core-Loks. I'm thinking it should be just the ticket for the 100 yrd or less shots I might get.
