244 remington (6mm from TBH'er Deepwoods here.) It arrived today via FEDEX.

Beautiful gun with some battle scars. Cleaned it up and lubed it.

Noticed the mag was holding up the bolt so I took care of that this evening.

Actually gun was made in January 1961 according to stamp on barrel.

Nice Redfield scope and original sights still on.

Didn't buy this rifle. Was given to me by surprise by my cousin yesterday. I always talked about getting a Encore, but never acted on it. He took care of that for me. Pro Hunter factory barrel in .223 cut to 16 3/8" and threaded. Thread protector is a AR type bird cage flash hider. Going nuts looking for a threaded barrel in 300BO for it. Any help with a 300 BO barrel search for this Encore is appreciated.

I have the PUG too. Try & find the Speer gold dots. They were designed for these short barreled guns. Ballistics on the gold dots are great.

Working on this guy for a friend. 700LR in 7mm Remington Magnum, Bobby Hart stock from Stocky's, Timney trigger, TPS 20MOA base and rings, Vortex Viper 6.5-20x44. Lugs lapped, just need to strip it all down, clean it, and reassemble with bedding compound in the right places and she'll be done. Kinda makes me want one for myself.

Got in mail today from another TBHer a late 50's lever action (short action) JC Higgins/Marlin 22 mag rifle that is tube fed.

Very nice action. Will try it out this weeekend.!!!

Picked up a Ruger Charger over the weekend. Slapped a Barska red dot on it that I had laying around. Now I need to take it out and try it out.


Eventually I would like to throw a can on it, some decent glass, and some tweeking on it to turn it into a super quiet shooter using Mini Mags.
