    Using chrono with handloads

How much faith do you put in chrono when getting close to recommened max load? Mine is telling me that I'm still 200 fps below what the book says is max powder weight. No pressure signs yet.

I custom handload for optimum accuracy , not velocity

Thats why I started handloading. Seems that the most accurate is always closer to starting point.

I need a chronograph...... Only information I want: velocity, es, and Ed. Maily to makensure the round or rounds stay at certain velocities at distance.

            AMEN!!!!!
The goal is to shoot as tight as possible, not as fast as possible.
I would rather shoot 1/4" groups, than 1 1/2" groups 300 fps faster.

The chamber on that particular gun may be a bit larger so it could take a little more powder to max out pressure which would also get more velocity. Chronos are usually pretty accurate. What brand is the chrony?

Pro chrono. Loads were full length sized as they were the first from this gun. .015" from lands. Will try neck size only on next loads.

it all depends on what powder your shooting i have found many powders shoot good low and many shoot best high like varget and h1000 shoot good high for me i use a chrony in a coffin for max accuracy velocity is important to know when figuring fore a long range shot.
