Bullet selection is pretty easy based on what you plan to do with it and your rate of twist, I have a hard time figuring out which powders to start with, I don't want to buy a dozen types just to test them!
abcs of reloading for a bunch of info on compents and all that jazz. then the instructions on the equipment you buy on how to operate and adjust, then powder mfr website on recipes
I'd recommend both the current Lyman manual and Richard Lee's book for general information. Then get the current bullet manufacturer's book for whatever bullets you are going to load. While cup-and-core bullets are similar, none are the same. And that's why I recommend load data specific to the bullet you will be reloading.
Remember also that reloading is not a way to turn a .308 into a .30-06 or a .30-06 into a .300 Win Mag.
