So I'm looking at getting the m-223 in 4x12. Do you think that scope will look to long on that gun?

I had one on my 16" carbine. I didn't think it looked too big at all. It was a sweet scope but I didn't like how the turrets didn't lock and mine kept turning when I went through the woods or rode in the truck/ranger on rough roads so I went a different route with my ar and put a red dot on. I never really shot more than 100 yards so I didn't really need the magnification.

I probably won't either but I won't hesitate to take a poke at a yote at 300 yards. I would prefer I had a different gun in my hand but if I'm walking around the ranch with my ar I want the option.

Ya it's great for that. I shot mine out to 600 and the bdc reticle worked great. I shot a few hogs at 250+ with mine. I'd recommend it to ya for sure. If I get another AR I'm gonna get a 20" and make it into a long range rifle and then I'll use my m-223.

I'm by no means a marksman. Tickled with the results. I was amazed how much difference good ammo made. I used HPR 55gr vmax.

You wont see the front sight in the scope sight picture if you want to mount one on that flat top. dont be skurred!

x2 buddy took his off and put a low profile gas mount. i showed him mine he asked how I could see with the Rhino Horn in the front lol. I showed him. Said he wasted some coin changing it out.

I didnt change mine out. I cut it off and reprofiled it, I prefer the pinned factory setup over a clamp style. I just think its a cleaner look without it.
