well if you can find it somewhere other than cheaper than dirt or a gun show, it's cheap. It's also one of the only other calibers that have high capacity mags to fill up with it. I still don't understand why the ammo is being scooped up. The ammo manufacturers aren't going to stop producing ammo! I guess people are getting ready for a zombie apocalypse or something. I heard someone say if something happened and you were to need a bunch of ammo in a hurry then it's already too late.

2. It is cheap.
3. You can carry a lot of it with little effort. Try carrying 500 rounds of .223/5.56 and 500 rounds of .22 and compare..... much less 9mm, .308, etc.
4. It is a great survival round. See #3.
5. It can be found in micro handguns all the way up to full size rifles. One round will fit in several types of readily available guns.
6. Practically no recoil making is suitable for anyone and for many purposes.
7. ........................ and so on.
