    Sig 238 v. 938...Comments, Concerns...

Looking for a CHL for the wife. I've heard the P938 is actually a better shooter(recoil) than the P238.

Bought her a Taurus 709 but it's too big for her hands. Going to get rid of that and try that Sig.

Let me know the good, bad and ugly on the sigs...Please.

Love both. Had the 238 and really liked it. Reliable, small, light, and simple to use.
Didn't like that it was .380 though.

Accidentally ordered two 938s in 9mm. Love them both so far. Wifa Carries one, i carry the other.

The great thing, both guns use the same holster, laser, etc. three only difference is the width of the grip.

In a crossbreed holster, you can't beat how easily they disappear.

I don't agree with that! The 938 has quite a bit more recoil.....

I have both, great guns if your used to a 1911. They are not for everybody as some have a problem carring cocked and locked! and IMO if you don't plan to carry it hot then you should pick a different gun.

My wife likes to carry in her purse!! I wish she didnt but I guess the purse is better than nothing.... I don't think the Sig is a good fit for this application so I got her a hammerless S&W 38 speacial. I feel much better about that riding around in a purse...

Oh yes. Recoil is significantly more on the 938

Got my wife the 938. It's now mine.... She didn't like the recoil. She shoots all of my guns including my XDs in 45acp. She like the XDs better than the 938! Lol

I have the 938 and love it. My only complaint would be the grip plate screws coming loose. But that is fixed with loctite or aftermarket plates. My buddy has the 238 and the only advantage I see is that the over all length is about 1/2" shorter which allows it to be carried in a pocket. I can't carry my 9 in front or back pocket of jeans, its just barely too big. I have a cross breed that is super comfy and cab conceal it in a t-shirt. I carry too much stuff in my pockets anyway as it is lol. Anyway I chose the 938 and love it Click image for larger version

If its for your wife, I'm inclined to say 238. My wife has loved hers from the moment it hit her hand.
