    Gunbroker/Shipping a Gun Question

I have a rifle that I want to sell on Gunbroker, but have never used the site before. Has anyone ever used Gunbroker to sell a rifle? Any pros/cons? Whata bout shipping a rifle? Can I us the USPS or do I have to ship through an FFL holder? Thanks

I believe that you can ship directly to an FFL in the buyer's state without having to go through an FFL in this state. The key is that in the buyer's state, it has to be accepted and transferred through an FFL.

Meaning you must ship "to" an FFL but not "from" an FFL.

It is just like a person can ship a gun back to the factory for repairs or custom work without going through an FFL because the company has a license to do such work.

Correct. if it goes out of state.

If its in Texas, and never crosses a state line you can ship it directly to the buyer.

What are you trying to sell? PM Me and you can ship it DIRECTLY to me

Because of the reverse auctions/selling in the Classifieds forum.

In that forum we are not allowed to run auctions and bidding wars but can ask for a price. If it doesn't sell (which is typical) then the price is lowered until the seller gets a bite. In other words, it is an auction in reverse. Gun for $2,000. No buyers? Will you give me for $1,900? Still no buyers? How about $1,800 as a final offer or the gun will be kept? Yet still no buyers? Okay, one last lowering to $1,650..............

On gunbroker, it starts low and climbs to the max that someone is willing to pay out of (probably) hundreds of thousands of buyers.

I like buying in Classifieds and have gotten a few very nice items. If I wanted the max from a gun during these times, I might go gunbroker also.

Like the old saying goes, everything that I have is for sale.

It just isn't always for sale for what someone is willing to pay.

They also have the "buy it now" option just like ebay.

Now I know this is a big no no, but if the person who is selling on gun broker is not a dealer then its up to the buyer/ seller how its shipped. Ive bought quite a few there and have had a couple just come in regular ups to our doors.

I just did not think that there would be that much interest for the gun is all.

                    PM sent

I learned my lesson on the bidding of guns this summer. I NO LONGER BID ON GUNS.... Man once I find a gun I want I MUST have it... and that bidding can get expensive FAST!!!!!

I'm now only "buy now" as theres no time for me to go well its just 10 more bucks... 10 times...

This is why I quit eBay. Turns into competition!

USPS as in the Post Office WILL ship long guns and shot guns. They WILL NOT ship hand guns.

If it crosses state lines it must go to an FFL:
Texas to Florida MUST go to FFL
Houston to Dallas NO FFL needed.

Handguns must be shipped UPS or Fedex. (go to the hub... the small stores by walmart wont accept.)
