The gun is made by Trabzon Gun Industries Corp. in Ankara (TISAS in local terms). It was started in the mid 1990s with government support to grow the arms industry in Turkey.

Contrary to popular belief they are NOT an outsourced Norinco... But they are imported by the same people...

It's a budget 1911... Don't expect great things... But with some upgrades it could be nicer... But those upgrades will take it out of the "budget realm"

What were your plans with it? And what price did you find it for?

No big plans, and I haven't bothered to look much at pricing...other than I know they are half the cost of many.

A friend got one over Christmas. I put my hands on it this weekend, but didn't shoot it. Felt food in the hand.

I've never shot a 1911 for what it's worth.

Txag, take a look at a Rock Island 1911. I have one in 38super and it's sweet for the money.
