STI Spartan 9mm

I am beyond pumped. I am the proud new owner of an STI Spartan V in 9mm. I can't wait to take it out and put through its paces! Anyone else have one? How to you like it? Is there any ammo it likes/dislikes? Magazine recommendations?

My FIL has one in .45 and my buddy just bought the same one. I wouldn't mind having the 9mm version if it. I'd really like the Trojan in 9mm but I have other items on my list above another 1911.



Great shooter though!



As far as Mags go. I only run factory mags or Wilson Combat or Chip McCormick in my 1911s.

Ya this is my first 1911 and I'm excited. I have a Springfield XD 45 tactical already and I wanted a 9mm to shoot some matches. I looked at a hard nickel Trojan but I didn't have the funds to get one. I figured I could run faster and with less recoil with the 9 vs 45. Plus I figure ammo should be cheaper if I can find it lol. I'll do a report back on it once I get a chance to mess with it.

The 9mm mag that it comes with is the best on the market in my opinion. Putting the rib in the front and leaving the feedlips the full length make a world of difference. Let us know how you like it.

Yes. I beleive Springfield uses the same mag.

I promised I would report back after I had a chance to put my spartan through its paces. I am blown away, this thing is sweet! I put 200 rounds through it with no hiccups. I read a few discouraging reviews on the metalform mag that it came with but I did see lots that said they cycled perfectly, I can say I have no problems with them. It cycled pmc 119gr fmj and fiocchi 124 gr fmj flawlessly. I was amazed at the accuracy and smooth cycling of this pistol. I cant say enough about this pistol its a sweet shooter! But like a goober I forgot my phone at my apt after class because I just wanted to get to my buddies farm to punch some paper with my new toy. I'm going to shoot a match tomorrow with it so I will post results mañana. Once again Chris y'all did a great job I love my new spartan!
