    Direct from the bill text..

    a person ’s license to
carry a concealed handgun issued by another state may not be
recognized and is not valid in this state if the person has
established a domicile in this state.

And this is the very bill that we have been warning others about by getting out of state licenses...and not taking the time to get a valid tx CHL if you live in Tx..

Negative. I live in Kansas and my permit will be valid since i don't have a domicile in TX.

My bad i went back and re-read the previous post and didn't think about living in TX.

Hopefully this will not pass. There is alot of opposition to it from pretty much everyone who is pro gun.

              Here is the link to

SB299 Relating to the unintentional display of a weapon by a person licensed to carry a concealed handgun

Correct me if I'm wrong but if this bill passes as is I will no longer be able to carry at church!? That's stupid. Heck even my pastor is packin!

"(b) A license holder commits an offense if the license holder intentionally, knowingly, or recklessly carries a handgun under the authority of Subchapter H, Chapter 411, Government Code, regardless of whether the handgun is concealed, on or about the license holder's person:"

"(6) on the premises of a church, synagogue, or other established place of religious worship."

What you need to understand ONLY the language that is lined through or added is what is proposed as a change....THE ONLY CHANGE is "INTENTIONALLY" and the defense to prosecution clauses at the end .

Other than that what you read is already current law..

Since 1997 it has been legal to carry into a church/place of worship or amusement park and so forth unless it is posted properly with 30.06 signs

Still a defense to prosecution under 30.06.
