Ammo price question

I just cant figure out why ammo prices and availability have gone up, I dont remember hearing anything about the new proposed gun bans outlawing particular ammo. I get the prices on guns (kinda) but why ammo?

Panic buying and gouging is what's causing it plain and simple.

Everyone went on gun buying sprees and decided it would not do any good to have a new firearm without 300-1000 rounds to go with them. AR type weapons are making the big news but its even getting hard to find any high capacity semi auto pistol.

Availability has definitely not gone up.I have been trying for a month to find .308 ammo with no luck.Academy only has shotgun shells and Gander is out of .308.

Hoarding and bulk buying to turn around and gouge somebody else.

Basic supply and demand economics. Who wants an AR without ammo. And there has been talk in the past about limiting how much ammo one person can own.

I'm not buying the excuses. Companies should make more product to meet demand. Has to be other causes.

I saw several booths at the gun show last weekend that had the 308

I've bought few boxes two months now. They're home defense rounds or a Razorback for swine rounds. Not cheap but I had no choice. That was at RR Academy. Sucks. I've been looking for bulk but they're expensive than it would usually cost pre-shooting.
