ESPN joining in not running gun adds

That blows! Just read they have dropped any companies running gun adds on their channels. They will not run any add for sporting rifles or handguns because they say it promotes violence in children. What a crock!

But they will replay over and over two football/baseball/soccer players who millions of kids look up to fight on the field?

They will only run shotgun adds on that show possible regular hunting rifles but they will have to "approve" those

So has anyone ever gone out and bought a rifle after seeing a commercial on ESPN?

Me either. It will be ok.

You think the advertisers where running those rifle adds just for fun?

I don't know. Never bought a gun or bow because of an ad. I see ads and take them with a grain of salt. Then I ask people who I trust about equipment questions. Don't think I have seen a commercial on Glocks or STIs and either have one now or I'm getting one or 2...

Probably not. But then again I never saw a television commercial for a handgun or modern sporting rifle on any espn channel either. World of Winchester TV show doesn't even run ads for their own lines of black rifles

I did see a lot of bolt action, shotgun and rifle bullet ads during hunting shows. And now with all the buying frenzy gun manufacturers don't need advertising.

Disney has owned espn for a years so they have probably been trying to stop those ads for a while, and just needed a reason.
