I just bought the walther pk380 and my wife is smaller than you and it fits her great and has very little recoil. She loves shooting it. It is just a little larger and easier to hold than the keltecs, ruger lcp, etc. But still small enough and light enough to conceal very easy. I picked it up for 369 brand new. Try it out

I just bought a Taurus tcp 380 and I'm thinking hard about getting one for my girlfriend. It has a MUCH better trigger than the Ruger lcp and the slide locks open after the last shot.

If you decide to go with a pistol, I'd suggest getting something like the MVB500. It has a finger print reader that allows easy access but keeps anyone else from gaining access (your child included). We have one at the house and one in each vehicle for when we can't carry i.e. hospital, bar. You don't have to remember any code, just swipe finger, it pops open and gun is at your finger tips. Ours are setup to scan our index and middle finger on both hands.

The trigger really is a lot better than the LCP. And the sights are a little more defined as well. still not much to speak of, but I like the sights better on the TCP. I've owned both and I like the trigger and the sights on the TCP but I belive the LCP is better made and more reliable.

LCP gets my vote. just HATE the trigger though, But that's really what you want in a little pocket pistol with no safety, so I guess it's not a bad thing.

That's pretty sweet! I've seen that type before. (almost bought one like it last week) But I didn't know they had fingerprint scanners. That's pretty dang cool!

I have a TCP738 as well and it is a pleasure to shoot, and surprisingly accurate for such a small pistol.

I got my wife the LCP .380 with the crimson trace grips. I has a long trigger, but after running a couple boxes of shell through it....she shoots it fine. Get you some snap caps, a hogue grip sleeve and a pearce mag extension.......you are good to go!

Oh, don't waste your time with tullo (sp) ammo for practice.....it sux

Check out the walther pps 9mm. Sounds like it would be a good fit for you.
