    SoCom 16...I need some edumication.

My sister-in-law wants to buy her son a Socom 16 for his graduation from the AirForce Academy.

I assume this is a horrible time to buy one but I wanted to educate myself so I could help her get one eventually.

Looks like it's a .308 and I wanted to see if they make Pmags for them. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Wouldn't buy one now. They are impossible to find. Great guns, fun to shoot, not cheap to shoot.

That's what I was afraid of...

He doesn't graduate until 2015 so maybe the earth won't be flat anymore and global warming will be a myth again.

Yeah it's not easy I'm sure. It will pay off when get gets done. I train a lot of LT's from the Academy.

Good stuff, was in the USAF.

Yes, 308 and mine is not picky on the ammo. I had a standard that didn't like the cheap stuff.
No PMags, I wish it did. Here is a source for good mags.

He's got his eye on the prize so to speak. His mom is his personal drill sergeant and helped keep him motivated through high school.

I'll be heading up with my SIL in March for Texas weekend to help BBQ for the boys.

Here is a old picture of mine. Ive since took off the heavy rail and replaced the CompM4 with a FastFire optic.

Right now you're looking at 2K-3K depending on how much of a schmuck the seller is.

That being said, the market is unlikely to change dramatically for the next year or so. Most manufacturers we talked to said they are sold out on back orders alone for 12-18 months.

Best hope is that some of the people really gouging (Cheaper than Dirt!, anyone) run into some issues and have to dump stock. Especially the private individuals.

Here is my road so far.
Started a SoComm II and recently put it in a Sage stock.

                            NTex,

That's just purdy. No other words for it.

I did have a guy try to sell me the EBR chassis - just the chassis, no rifle for $1500.

Thanks, I got mine for 700.00 back when there was a shortage. I have seen them lately going for 650 to 900. If you are looking call Sage International and they will tell you someone that should have some in stock.
