    AR15 disassembly problem

Once again, I have disproven the theory of something being idiot proof. I took down my AR15 and cleaned it. When I reassembled it I did not have the firing pin all the way in. I pulled the charging handle and the bolt did not go all the way forward and I heard something loose inside. When I tried to disassemble I could not separate the upper from the lower. I can see the firing pin loose. Both take down pins are out but the bolt will not move. I can't see what is preventing the upper and lower from separating. Any help is greatly appreciated.

BCG is probably partially in the buffer tube.

    Try tapping the forward assist.

    Dont force anything.

Sounds like you may have to remove the buffer tube.

          Right Tuff?

Like said above, try taking buffer assembly off, I had this happen a few times with students.

Yes Sir, he will have to loosen the castle nut and rotate the stock till is comes off (CAUTION SPRING UNDER TENSION) and when he does the the small buffer tube detent and spring will pop up and out also...

BUT, you will be able to turn your weapon upside down and shake the firing pin out then push the bolt forward....then put it all back together..

the small detent and tiny spring will be the most fun DONT LOSE IT!

Might be the safest way without tearing anything up it kinda sounds like the bolt retaining pin came out and is wedged!

Turn the video camera on....right before the springs come un-spooled!

I see so many different jams teaching students how to fire. I have seen rounds half way in the chamber backwards. Seen bolts fall out of the carrier and stick in the chamber. If there is a possible way to mess up an AR people will do it lol.

I know. I could tell stories all day from 3 years working the ranges. 1 year left and I will feel “safe" again.

Make that three springs under tension.

I say cut the upper receiver in half, then use jb weld to put it back together
