I used to have a 1100 28 ga but I let my Dad talk me out of it.

Great shooting gun, but dang those shells are expensive.

I was reloading at the time and that 1100 can sure fling those hulls...

Yup, and make sure when you clean em you dont use your finger to wipe a little oil inside the receiver where the action bar's ride! That sucker gets razor sharp!

        seen quite a few

28 ga brings more $$$ than the .410

28 ga is poison on small upland game .... snipe, woodcock, quail, grouse, etc....

If I could ever find a decent one in .410 again, I would buy it on the spot (for the right price).

I had to buy the pair, both in very good shape few bumps and bruises here and there but all together prett good shape. Paid $1400 for both is that a fair price?

Could be high, low or right in line depending on age/actual grade. Seen both gauges as low as 450 or so in "good" shape and as high as 850 in excellent condition with external chokes etc. If you like them you did well. :-)

I saw a .410 rem 1100 go for $1000 at an auction a few months back. It was in mint condition, looked like it had a box through it at the most.
I would say you got a pretty good deal.

Oooof. Just noticed I stated both "gauges" . . .
Flogging myself now. Congrats on the purchase and Enjoy (shoot) them. :-)

You will never regret getting them both.
