    Pmag fuss.....why?

Why is everyone so pro Pmag. I have seen them, but the whole idea of a plastic mag leaves me scratching my head. Is it because they are light weight or don't rust.
Seems they would be subject to wear out quicker.
Not starting a pizzin match, just curious.

I honestly don't know why everybody else likes them. But I like mine because I got them free a few years back when I got my m&p.

They are more durable than metal mags. If a metal mag gets bent in anyway, they are worthless. You can drive a truck over a pmag and put it in your gun and shoot.

Originally it was because they were the first to use an "anti tilt" follower. The standard military style didn't have this. You can buy the anti-tilt piece now and make any magazine just as good. Other then that, some have a window and I guess it's cool to see that you have rounds in the magazine....

They are way more smooth and durable compared to a regular aluminum magazine. Go look at the videos on youtube of soldiers running them over with a deuce and half and then doing the same thing to an aluminum mag. Also when they are loaded and the cap is on the feed lips will not over time bend out which causes feeding issues.

Feed lips don't get deformed when you drop a mag out of the weapon and it lands lips down

Feed lips don't wear as quickly

            Mag body is more durable

Snap on dust cover lets you store rounds without pressing on the feed lips. We know the spring issue is a non issue, but the feed lip issue always has been for long term storage.

I've swapped all my metal mags for PMAGs. I love them. They were recently banned for military use because they weren't compatible with one of our weapons 100% of the time (M249? Can't remember), but the Gen3 PMAG took care of that problem (still banned though)

Cool, I'll check it out. I guess I was thinking the mag catch/release hootus would start wearing out, possibly causing the mag to unlatch by itself.

I only buy steel or ss mags, so I don't know about the aluminum ones.

You haven't tried a pmag or this question would already be answered.

PMAG is a rockin mag that rarely fails or wears out. plus it was built by a man with a tactical beard.
