NV with IR spotlight works for me!

My buddy used one of those ND3's and he said some pigs don't mind it while others bolt. Guess it depends on the hunting pressure...

Yea I used my dads raptor NV two weeks ago and it was fun! Couldn't believe how good you could see with it. Shot two pigs that weekend with it. We didn't have the ir spotlight though how much does it help out?

I was reading up on how to remove the front iron sights and it didn't seem to difficult but said I had to put in another gas block? Somethin about how the iron sight was the gas block so would need to replace it? Think I'm already getting in over my head!

Using the IR spotlight that I have is like using a regular spotlight, but it's IR and the animals don't even know what hit em. If you use a NV setup you should get one... You'd be amazed.

You'll have to put a low profile gas block to replace that fixed front iron sight. I just replaced it with a folding front sight to be out of the way when NV is used...

Thanks for the help tek. Will have to try out an ir spotlight. He said he had an ir laser as well.

Yea I have been reading up on replacing the gas block...doesn't seem to hard? Just don't want to mess anything up! Also read that you could cut the iron sight down but not sure about doing that myself! Just want to get a rail on it and put a scope on it. Maybe sole NV down the road.

I have an nd3 laser designator which is the green light on my AR. it works well 200 yards no problem. ive even used it on my .17 hmr at around 100 with no problem on a racoon. definately worth looking at. ill see if i can find some pics on my phone, if not ill will post some when i get home.

Help me set up my AR.

Well I went with the Midwest industries rail, Nikon M-223 mount and M-223 4x12 scope. I haven't decided on the light yet but was looking at the elusive wildlife light, sniper hog light, and I think some sort of green laser maybe the ND3.
