    Remington 541s date

old rem gurus? I found two different charts to decide build dates. One suggested 1934 but it doesn't appear the 541 was built that far back. Another chart suggests 1982 which seems right by my memory of my pops buying it.

I have RC then 87. Two heart stamps on the other side. Model 541S with a post weaver. By far one of my favorites next to a rolling block take down i carried for miles as a kid

The 1982 chart has to be correct.

It's knocked down a squirrel or 3 over its lifetime. I've been taking 100+ yard pop shots off the patio this weekend

It's been around for as long as I can remember. It may or may not be responsible for larger game at the hands of my pops. I remember him besting me when I first bought a target model 10/22. We were shooting balloons at 200 yards and that k4 was enough to top my 3x9 semi auto. At least till I figured the holdover

Our deal was a big ol Sycamore tree in Grandpa's front yard. We used to sit on the porch and shoot the balls of the tree, then migrated to just shooting the stems off to make the balls drop off the tree... I had a Weatherby Mark XXII and my brother had a Savage Anchutz... I LOVE a good shooting 22! My all time favorite was a Winchester model 61 pump... My dang brother traded it off for a Remington 1100 12 ga magnum!

                          Oh yea, did that too!!

But dem sycamore balls bein' all puffy and such, sure make a big puff of dust when you center punch 'em! We also had a China Berry tree in the back yard that got hammered pretty bad too! They were just not as much fun because if you hit 'em right, they just sort of disappeared. Not much to see there.
