Which ammo for my frankenstein bolt 7mm-08?

I'm picking up my frankenstein bolt action tomorrow. 7mm-08 on Rem. Model 700 action. Thunderbeast Ultra 7 suppressor. Not particularly looking to shoot super long ranges. Maybe pigs and coyotes to 300 yards. Deer to 250. What ammo should i be looking at? I've been told to look for a few grain weights in Hornaday and / or Federal. Please advise. Thanks in advance.

Is there such a thing as 'sample paks', boxes of 5 or 10, of rifle bullets? I assume you've got to buy boxes of 20 no matter what? Thanks again...

I always recommend Federal Fusion as it shoots well in most rifles that I own. Don’t overlook the Remington Core Lokts, they are still a great cartridge.

I’m starting with the 140 gr core locks . Everything I have seen says they shoot great in my set up . 1 and 8 twist

My tikka was 1-9 and shot Barnes 120’s and nosler ballistic tip 140’s very well

I have 1 - 8.5 twist. I'm comparing on paper: Hornady139 Gr. SST, Remington Core-Lokt Tipped 140 gr, and Federal - Barnes TSX 140 gr. I may order a box of each for testing.

120-140 grain I've never seen anything bad with any brand in a 7mm-08

Another recommendation for Federal Fusion. That’s what I shoot in my 7-08

Federal fusion has always shot well for me no matter the cartridge in one grain weight or another. My 308 didn’t like them in 150s but loved them in 165s type deal.

Rem corelokt tipped would be a good higher BC option.

7-08 is a great round. I don’t think you can go wrong with anything. I like bonded bullets but the cup and core do fine what your wanting.

My .243 Savage heavy barrel actually liked the cheaper Monarch from Academy and Remington Core Lokt which isn't expensive both 100 gr. Don't overlook trying some of the less expensive ones in your search.
