        Army Air Corp used them in the 40's. This was at the Flexible Gunnery School in Kingman Arizona.

          Why wouldn't it make a good turkey gun? I have probably killed 50+ turkey in my life and all mine were with 12g 2-3/4 shells, mostly #2 or #4 lead shot. Except 3 I shot them with a bow.

            I'd leave it as is. Maybe a rattle can camo job. For coyotes and Turkey as you stated, it'll work well. My mossberg has a 28 in barrel. I don't feel handicapped with it. For the price of the mods you can buy another mossberg pump for a short gun role. Or even a Turkish Benelli M2 clone in a semi
