I recently picked up a Howa Mini 20" heavy barrel in 6 ARC and really like it. Crazy light recoil and you can reload hotter for bolt guns in 6 ARC. If you are looking at the Tikkas you may want to hold off for a bit. The new 2025 Tikkas are all supposed to be threaded.

I like my 16.5” barrel with a suppressor. So handy and light.

I have a Dakota and Bergara in 7-08. Both have 22" barrels and I shoot the Bergara suppressed. Both shoot sub 1/2" groups and aren't finicky. I shoot 120 Barnes in the Dakota and 140 Fusions in the Bergara. If I could only have one rifle it would be a hard choice between the 7-08 and the 280AI.

I finally got my new rifle set up and was able to shoot it some. After testing several manufacturers and loads, i've settled on Federal Power-Shok 150 Gr, Jacketed soft point. Same deal, for hogs and coyotes to about 300 yards. I'm not a good shooter. In the hands of a skilled shooter, i'm sure the gun will stack these bullet holes one on top of the other. I'm taking it to a 'shooter' in a few days for final check out. I love it.
