    Athlon thermal scopes?

Does anyone have any experience with these thermal scopes? I've read they're made in China, how true that is I can't say. What is your opinion on them and are they worth buying or would you go a different route?

I plan to try one out eventually. I've had nothing but positive experience with Athlon scopes and their customer service.

The only reason I asked is because there's a sale on the Cronus right now. The only thing that makes me leary of that purchase is the lack of information on them or reviews for that matter. I'm just finding very limited firsthand experience with that particular model. There are plenty of things out there that talk about the features of that scope but I'm not seeing much in the way of how well they hold up or anything like that.

hum, pretty much 95% of all scopes are made in china .. many of them are manufactured and then rebranded as something else.. companies in the us are just importers . others may assemble them here from chinese parts as well to appear as made here ... it will take time to get manufacturing back here if ever ... the current administration is trying just that. the cheaper ones are throwaways .. they just swap them out under warranty .. after that , you're just sol... i'm not going to say which one , but i googled the address of one said optic i sent for service and found it to be a suite in a strip mall .. few days later my repair came in with a new serial number ... so unless a company shows their manufacturing and repair facility as a selling point ... it's fair to assume it doesn't exist... if you know your way around the internet and chinese , you can find a lot of items that looks identical for sale a fraction of the cost ... but it's a gamble if you'll even get it, if it works , and you're pretty much S O L after the sale ... so basically you're paying a middle man to take the risk and give you another device they potentially quality control first.
