    6.5 Grendel deer ammo

So I really need my shoulder to heal, so i can go back to work. I have to much free time on my hands to buy stuff. So this morning a bought a Bear creek arsenal 6.5 grendel upper they had on sale. It's a 16" heavy barrel with mlok handguard . It was 245.00 with bcg and shipping. So looking on the internet deer ammo options are all over the place . I'm sure plenty of you guys hunt with one of these, what's your go to factory deer round ? I will eventually handload for it but currently my new handloading project is Winchester 32-20.

Hornady 123 sst. I shoot high shoulder and have never had a deer take a step.

For a factory ammo option the Hornady Black 123ELDM works very well.

hopefully you have good luck with your BCA upper, they aren’t well known for quality, reliability and accuracy.

Have shot large hogs, deer and axis with the 123gr SST’s and can recommend them with confidence.

I’ve used the ELDM’s as well but have seen better performance with the SST’s which is funny because I’ve not had as good of results with them in other calibers.

Hornady 123gr SST has served me well with AR-15 and a 14" pistol. Have used the 123gr ELD-M on hogs too, but feel the SST performs consistently better in putting them down quickly, Both group well but SST has edge in quicker kills.

The 120gn Federal Fusion would be my top pick for hunting rounds.

We’ve shot tons of hogs and about 8 deer with the 123sst and it’s done the job every time.

Well I bought both the Hornady sst, and eld. I will see what shoots best when the upper comes in.

Personal best buck this season with 123g ELD-M in the neck. Didn’t take a step. Several folks at our place are switching to the Grendel.

depends on what your gun shoots best. all of the animals I have shot with my 6.5Gs have been DRT. It's crazy. This past weekend I did some group testing on a factory loads.

                              Hornady Custom 123 SST
                              Nosler 120 ballistic tip
                              Hornady Black 123 ELDM

Hornady Black 123 ELDM had significantly better groups than the other 2. I proceeded to DRT a doe and an extremely fat sow.
