I have a 6.5 CM for the wife and I shoot a 6.5 PRC now. Can’t go wrong with either as long as you keep bullet selection in mind.

You guys planning on shooting Nilgai with the 6.5 make sure to give us a recap. I shot mine with a 7PRC and 170g Hammers at 3050fps and the bullet core didn't even break through the body cavity on the other side. Luckily he dropped and there was not track job, but after seeing the bullet performance I felt a bit undergunned.

6.5 PRC for mine, 308 for wife's.

Both bullets recovered in off side skin. 143gr Bondstrike and 150gr Accubond respectively.

Edit: My 6.5 PRC is a 20" barrel and gets roughly 2700 fps, so it's basically a 6.5 Creedmoor.
