Talk me out of it(or into it). Going at lunch to local pawn shop. They have a Sauer 100 in 6.5prc. I hunt mainly East texas with one trip a year to Coleman. Most shots in East Texas are 60-70yds although we have bottom with wheat where I could possibly shoot 350ish. In Coleman, I could shoot out to 500ish(I wouldn't but possibility is there). Right now we have 22-250, 6.5 Grendel, and 243.

Looks like you have all of the bases covered for your typical hunting situations but the 6.5 PRC is a really good round! Go for it!

I'll talk you into it, I had a Sauer 100 6.5 PRC and it was a phenomenal rifle that was stupid accurate with factory ammo. I sold it when I got my APR custom 6.5 PRC. IMO the 6.5 PRC is one of the best rounds for deer sized game.

Same bullet selection, only roughly 200 fps faster than a Creedmoor. 6.5 projectile velocities will expand, depending on projectile, down to around 1800 fps which is typically around 500ish yards or so for average setups starting at CM speeds(ballparking here). So unless you're shooting further than that there's nothing the PRC does over the CM that benefits you aside from more expensive ammo and more recoil to make you twitch. Basically the PRC over the CM nets you ball park guess roughly 100 yards extra distance on your range. Neither will kill anything that your .243 won't kill with proper bullet selection.

Depending on the model. GB has the basic version for $599 and they run up to $1,200 depending on the configuration.

I have probably 20 different calibers and my 6.5 PRC is what I grab 20 outta 21 times…it’s stupid actuate, low recoil and it’s an absolute hammer with 143 grain Hornady. You won’t regret it!

My 21yo daughter is wanting 6.5cm. Gun was really nice. Is there much recoil difference? I think the cm would be easier to get ammo for

No there’s not but I’ve only shot a chassis PRC. Justletmein stated the facts between a creed and a PRC. I had a custom.260 built which basically has the same ballistics as the creed but I get to avoid the man bun comments😬. All three are really good rounds with good bc’s. If you like the rifle I’d go for it!

Man I hate pimpin the creed lol. But, I own two and own a PRC and the CM always get the nod. Cheaper ammo, less recoil, predictable ballistics.

The picture may not show it but this was a huge cow, biggest we've seen on the ground. Took her with my 18" barrel CM and she went roughly 30 yards and went down. I'm toying with taking my CM with Bondstrike for my Nilgai hunt.

You will need to get a flat billed hat if you wanna shoot it though, your daughter gets a pass.
