    6.5 grendel

Anyone else really love this little round? Last November I bought an 18 inch upper for an ar lower I had. Immediately put a leupold 3x9-40 scope on it and shot a doe at bit over 100 yards. She never moved. Since that time I have killed 15 pigs up to 150 lbs or so. Only one made it over 50 yards and that’s because the only shot I had was a bit further back than I like. He only made it around 150 yards. All have been with the hornaday black eldm ammo. For myself I feel it very well replace my 308, which I have always loved, as my favorite all around caliber when hunting deer and pigs 200 yards and in ( which is as far as I shoot in these woods of East Texas.)

So today I ordered me a howa mini action with the 20 inch barrel. Should be here Friday.

I've got one. It displaced my .5.56. It's a 20" alexander upper with a nikon on top. It too likes hornady blacks and with high shoulder shots deer are drt. Couple of hogs and one javelina have gone down from it.

It is definitely my favorite cartridge right now.
      Kills above its weight class.

What do you plan on putting the Howa Mini in? I’ve got one stock, and another in a Bell and Carlson. The one in the B&C is much smoother. I’ve only shot any of my Grendel’s to 200. Need to stretch them out.

Best deer cartridge out there for youngsters these days. I’ve had great luck with the 6.5 Grendel myself and would recommend it up to anything we have up to 400lbs.

As of now it will stay in its green plastic stock, but my plan is to slowly upgrade it to most like a b&c unless I find another I like better. Depending on how I like factory trigger, it may be upgraded also. Probably going with a little 3x9 leupold for it also

It's a good little round. When we had our store in San Antonio, the 6.5 and 6.8SPC were our top deer killing rounds in South and Central texas. good to load for faster velocity varmint rounds, as well as the good BC rounds for actual game harvest.

My son has killed a truckload of deer ands pigs with his all dead within 50. Switched him from the Barnes TTSX 100gr pill to the 123 SST’s middle of last year and really like them better

I built a 12 gun to shoot suppressed. We've only shot pigs with it. I need to put a scope on it to stretch it out some. I've been wanting a short bolt gun but rarely rifle hunt unless it's pigs
