Setting up scope on new gun.

I need a scope mounted and bore sighted for my wife. Where is the best place to take it in the Arlington South Fort Worth area? Alpine? Or some Pro off TBH?

Hopefully someone here can help you. A good local rifle range should be able to as well.

Since I'm not a gun guy what would be a good off the shelf bullets for her to shoot a big bodied deer with?

Remington corelock 100gr. Is a pretty good deer round.

I’ve got a vanguard in 243 that loves the Hornady American whitetail 100gr load.

I'm pretty sure this is the tried and true Interlock bullet and, if it is, I've killed truckloads of animals with it in an old 6mm Rem. Great bullet.

Make sure the scope eye relief is set for her as well when it gets set up.

                      We did that before going.

                        It is the interlock.

Not sure how you make sure he did it right before he did the mounting. All my family scopes are way back. With heavy coats it can become a problem quick getting the whole view without craning your neck.

Make sure rings are proper height too. Lower the better IMHO

I like hornady whitetails. But we used federal fusion a lot too.
