    300 BLK 110 Grain vs 147 grain

Those of you who use 300BLK (10.5" barrel) for hogs:
I'm trying to decide between 110 Grain and 147 grain for within 100 -110 yards on Hogs.
Who's using what grain, how much drop are you experiencing with each bullet and which one is more accurate and which one has a better knockdown (or does the extra 37 grain really makes a difference?)

I’ve had great success with the Barnes 110 tac-tx

I've also had really good success and accuracy with a Nosler 110

what average distance are you shooting and what's the average drop/accuracy? I'm using AAC 110 Grain VMax with the red plastic tip

A 147gr bullet out of the BO is always going to be a worse proposition than a well built 110. It just doesn't have the power to push those bigger bullets effectively.

I'll have to double check my data but I think I'm getting around 2200 fps out of it and limit shots to 100yards

makes sense (Dale & mmk) , I have about 100 110 V-Max and I'm looking for some "well built" 120 grains to buy in bulk. But going back to my original question... does anyone know what the drop on a 110 or 120 grain is at 100 yards? I kinda want to have an idea before I go to the range. Thanks!

Barnes makes the same bullet as the 110 in a 120-grain version. With the 120's and 20.5 grains of lil gun you can get ~2380 FPS.

Until recently I've been using a .270 Rifle to kill hogs... this is the first time trying 5.56 / .223 / 300BO if I use FMJ and shoot them in the head/neck/lung area will I be able to drop'em fairly quick or specialized hollow Point, soft point, etc. bullets are a must?

Soft points are a must unless you make all brain shots.

Dynamic bullets are a must with the BO.

Had some bad experiences with the 100 hornady round. Switched to the 150 power point and will only shoot out to 90 yards with it. The 100 hornady exploded on impact into shrapnel

I've had no issues with the 110 v-max on hogs out to 130 from a 10.3" rifle

110 all day any day. flat enough to shoot out to 200 or so. Shot my largest buck ever at 190 yards with the 110 tac x
