    What Shotgun

….. Are you taking out for opening day? I’m planning to start the season with a 1897 Winchester 12ga. I’ll probably change to something a bit more modern later on, but I’m going to try the old gun for opening day.

Continuing the trend of antiques... Easy. Winchester Model42. I'll look for some pics. She's gorgeous and older than my parents. I've also got Model 12 in 20ga that I'll break out if flying really high. I've got 12s in 28ga and 16ga too that never get shot for obvious reasons (unless mistakenly). Old hand-me-downs. You can say i've got "a type."

I usually use my grandfathers Belgium Sweet 16.

My H&R Topper single shot 410. Followed by a Beretta 400A Extreme Plus, or a Fox B series double. After that, there's no telling what I might break out.

Start with my 20ga CZ all-weather premier and will have my 12ga Browning Wicked wing.

I'll have my old faithful Remington 3200 O/U. I'll start out with the 28 gauge barrels and move to the 20 gauge later in the season.

I'm taking 3. I will probably start off with old faithful, 16g 870 Wingmaster. I also have a Tristart G2 Viper 16 and then a Yildiz 28g OU

I don't know how much you have shot the old gun but I thought I'd give you some advise just in case you haven't. They will fire if you pull the hammer back almost enough to cock it and let it go. Your thumb will be in the exact spot to have the hammer drive itself under your thumb nail. I carried one quite a bit when I was in the service and have had that happen twice in one day. Thumb nail was almost completely lifted off.

Oh, and I'll be carrying one of my Model 24 Winchester side by sides in 16 ga.

If I get a chance to make it out, I’ll be slinging lead with either a Yldiz O/U 28 ga, or a Rem 870 20 ga.

Taking my 24” Browning Gold Hunter 12ga. Now if I could only find it in a 20ga.

At a gun shop in Georgetown today, I saw a Remington 870 in .410. I had never seen one before. That would be a great little dove gun over a pond.

I made a huge mistake and gave my daughter my gold 20! It’s being well taken care of but that was an awesome shooter

Got talked into an afternoon hunt. The BBQ meal swayed me.
Will carry a Rem. 28 semi-auto or my old Ruger Red Label 20.
