Your cds will be worthless elk hunting unless your data has the same altitude, temperature, pressure, etc, etc where you will be hunting. Learn to dial.

It will be for 600 yards. That CDS makes it easy. I have it on my 6.5 Creedmoor and Reese can run out to 600 and shoot all day long. It's awesome.

Dialing and CDS are the same thing, one just has cheat codes on the turret. As far as your theory goes, Dialing will be worthless elk hunting unless your data has the same altitude, temperature, pressure, etc, etc where you will be hunting.

That would be correct. It’s the same as shooting a different load. Except with dialing you can account for those variables. With the cds you can’t.

Dumb question is there an App that will account for Elevation etc? or just to many variables?

I use ballistic AE and have only played around out to 1000yds but it was in Texas so those variables where not an issue. This is just more of a learning question as i have not plans to deal with elevation factors anytime soon.

I use Ballistic AE as well. You can put in elevation information as well as temperature, humidity, ect ect.

Hornady 4DOF is another one and it’s free. You should be good to 500 yards or so. It’s when you get past that distance things get a bit more challenging.
