Recommendations = need bolt handle reattached to bolt

Searching for having a gunsmith or facility that could reattach my handle to the bolt on a Model 788 243. It looks as if it was manufactured with a weld of some sort so I thinking a mig weld possibly. Y'all have any leads on a gunsmith or other professional that might do?

    Where are you located?

I had a Rem 700 bolt handle come unsoldered a couple years back.

It’s pretty common with later year Remingtons. Most smiths should be able to do it. It’s just soldered on.

Hey Bob...Take a look at Navajo Gunsmith in Kerrville. Not far from your old shop. Cross from Gary's. 313 Mill Run , Kerrville.

I'm in the Kerrville area which is 1 hour northwest of San Antonio. I don't mind traveling or shipping to get the repair done...

          Bought this gun in 1970.

Navajo was not interested in repairing as he said he does not solder.

Who did you use? I travel south and west TX a lot so I'm willing to bring or ship...

You might call twisted precision out in Center Point. If they don’t do it they will probably know someone who does.

Thats right! I forgot all about John Forrester. Herbie bought his King Ranch Dually from John. Heck of a nice guy.
                Good call Austin.
