ok, so i stumbled into this pistol and decided that for $250 it was worth a try.
first and foremost , brace yourself.... it's a Taurus! TS9 to be exact .
Now, i have had a tx22 for years and bar none love it, so much i just bought the new toro version to get an optic trainer as well .
So when i ran across this TS9 video on youtube, i was intrigued .. $239 for the green frame (out of stock) and $258 for the black in stock .. @GG.
Well, i got one ..
what sets it apart is the Bubit's barrel locking system , making the locking lug on top into the slide. much like the kimber mako r7.
slide is solid top with tactile chamber indicator, and only side ejection . and it's not optics ready.
the pistol passed Nato test with 20k rounds without failure, and brazil police and military adopted it as their primary side arm.
Rumors are they have an over run and therefore introduced them into the us market.
So, i have put 250rds in it so far with no issue what so ever.. and the gun shot
pretty darn good .. this target was 10 rounds at 7 yards .. and i can only count 7 rounds on target, the other 3 went somewhere in the same hole.
I calculated 25 thousands right is my correction and modified my glock sight tool to move it right .. it's now shooting dead on!
the pasty is 1" , so the group is around 1.5" @ 7 yards .. not bad at all .
Being side eject with no open top means no risk of the limp wristing effect like some people see on glock when the gun kick up and catches the ejecting round.
this thing flings brass right 10+ feet with authority .. no brass in the face ...
pros: low bore axis, low recoil, cheap, comes with 2 17rd mags, reliable .
cons: top heavy , trigger rough , mag release hard to press though amby, hardly no hoster support , not optics compatible, no after market support.
overall for $250 , this thing is solid
the little holes was the tx22 i sighted in at 25 yards .. took a little bit to get it dialed in with last 2 shots in the bull @25 yards.. that tx22 toro is my favorite trainer now.. just under $300 , optics ready , suppressor ready .. and so very reliable .. it runs ammo that has sit in my garage 20 years .. and spits them out without a glitch..
Taurus knocked it out of the park on these 2 for sure .. at least in my opinion .
