Barrel threading question

With standard threading, your barrel diameter needs to be .100” over major thread diameter for a proper shoulder. (.725” for 5/8”-24 or .600” for 1/2”-28)
If your barrel doesn’t meet these specs, you still have options. Depending on the barrel contour, it can sometimes be cut down to where it has enough diameter. Your other options are having an added shoulder or permanent thread adapter installed that will provide an adequate shoulder. We do a lot of these on thin profile barrels that don’t support regular thread jobs.
