been using barnes tsx in 85 grain. Seeing if anyone has used the sierra game changers and the tipped remingtons for 243 and what were your results in the field?

I don’t think the tipped Remington are going over so well. I am seeing them in the clearance sections (not necessarily .243) now, while the traditional CoreLokt is still on the normal sales shelves.

i’ve had pretty good results with the tipped remington in 150 grain in 308, 2 big bucks high shoulder shots no tracking required and never had any fragmenting. Never used in 243.

I have used for many many years Federal Premium 100grain in my Browning Gold Medallion 243. I prefer to use the lead tips for hunting. For smaller hogs I use a 223 but for the big ones, over 175, my 243 will end their lives very quickly. It has dropped every deer it has been pointed at.

man for some reason my x bolt does not like those! Terrible groups with that load from that gun. My Tikka will shoot the same hole at 100 yards with it

Next 243 I build will be more in line with shooting 80-90 grain projectiles.

Shooting 105 A-Max’s at the moment. Have enough to burn a barrel, but have done a poor job of it so far.

Yes Sir they discontinued it. Still have about 1200 left.
The 108 ELD-M is the replacement and aught to do a darn good job at killing critters as well.


Also have about 900, 115 D-Tacs but I don’t think those do well on critters.
