    Primary Arms Vs Leupold scopes

I currently have a Leupold hunters plex 2-8x (4A reticle look) on my CVA Scout 44 Magnum rifle and shoot some stout 300 grain loads.
I like Leupold scopes but like an illuminated Dot Scope for late evening/night hunting hogs.
There's some very $$ scopes that fit this but ..
I just searched and Primary Arms 1-6X illuminated Dot duplex popped up for $199.99
Anyone use Primary Arms scopes ..
Just rely on honest opinions and gathering of information before I make a choice..

I just bought that exact scope and waiting for delivery. It is on sale on their start up page. It is a illuminated LPVO(low power variable optic). Mine is going on a 5.56 16" AR with a PEPR mount with a canted Crimson trace holographic red dot. I figured for $199 you cannot go wrong. There is NO Leupold you can buy for $199. This is my first foray into primary arms scopes. It is a single focal plane scope. They do have their own brand and large selection of them. They also stand behind them. I believe they as good as Nikon scopes were. We will see. Midway also has a Bushnell Elite 4500 1-4x24 for $99, which I bought also. It is two less magnification, but again for $99 how can you go wrong. The Bushnell will be going on a 7.62x39 AR. I will let you know when I get it all set up and sighted in.
The Primary arms one is off sale and back up to $399

The Midway one is still on sale for $99

I've never owned one, OP, but have a friend that LOVES Primary Arms optics and swears they're excellent. I will say his LPVO had a great reticle.

They have the Sig with mount also for $279, think I'd try that one. https://palmettostatearmory.com/sig-...-sot61000.html

ID:	26794227 I run the exact scope on the exact gun. I forced myself to buy a budget scope for a budget gun. I’ve been thoroughly pleased with the Primary Arms scope at the $199 price point. The clarity of the glass and “brightness” of the scope don’t compare to the Leupold VX5 HD’s that I run on almost all my guns…but like I said, for the price, I don’t know of another LPVO that can compete with PA.

Thanks for all your information. I've mulled everything over. I have a Meuller 3-9X40 Sport Dot on My Son's 308 Winchester. It has held up and keeps it's zero. I like the thick Duplex 4A reticle with a center dot. It also has the same warranty+/-. I almost had a Primary Arms on an eBay auction but the bidding got out of hand. So I searched and found a Meuller 3-9X40 Sport Dot on Midway ..plus $25 off coupon.. It may be a little much for a 44 Mag Rifle but I'll let you know how it goes at the Range.
