Over the years instructing 1000's of people karma came full circle. I have helped more than my fair share of people with free barrels, gunsmithing, parts, holsters etc. and never asked for anything in return and was happy to just see a client learn and expand their knowledge base. A few weeks ago a friend called and was asking about a purpose built weapons platform and I pointed him in a direction and away he went. Fast forward..... a knock on the door the other day and He and his wife had brought over his new investment in tan Pelican 1750 case. He was pretty dang proud too. He had bought a Seekins Precision Havak HIT .308, topped off with a Leupold MK 5HD 5-25 x 56 with a Tremor3 reticle, he had put together one heck of a working system.
After we both tinkered with it for a bit he wanted me to go outside to his truck to look at something, so out we went. There in the backseat was another tan 1750 case with an identical weapon in it, except for one difference, this one had my ranch Logo engraved into the side of the receiver. I honestly began to tremble a bit and asked him what was up, he just smiled and gave me handshake that turned into a hug and said, its yours...I was at a total loss for words. It was only the 2nd time in my life that a student had given me anything, the first thing was a Master Chiefs frocking coin from a students time in the Navy that still sets on my desk today.
