    45 Super or 10mm?

Any of you have both of these, or experience with both of these? Possibly looking to add another caliber. Never shot either one.

10mm and play with AAC ammo and use Underwood to hunt and carry

      If you don’t handload, 10mm.

I loaded some 45 Super level loads for my ACP. Stuck a 26lb spring in it and haven’t had any problems. They were pretty spicy. I haven’t shot a critter with them though.

Cant speak on the 45 but have hunted with the 10mm for a long time. I really like it. I reload and use 180 xtp bullets. There's alot of available hunting ammo options for it as well. There's alot of hype with the 10mm, it's not even close to a 44, more in line with a 357, but its adequate for Texas medium game if hunting is in the mix

Haha, I fell victim to the hype many moons ago. A youth had downed a Bar hog with a 22-250 and it was still breathing when we got to it. I said "stand back", whipped out the ole Glock 10 mm with 180 xtp hand loads and put one in his bean, expecting to see the cranial split wide open with a huge hole in the rear....... nope, hole in and ate the bullet- no exit. I was like- oh .

I still have 2 of em, so not a hater. But they aren't lighting in a bottle like I was led to beleave....a little hype goes a long ways sometime.

It depends on the ammunition that you use. Lots of 10mm factory ammunition is loaded pretty weak. Buffalo Bore and Underwood or full power handloads are on another level. I’ve run some.45 supers through some of my HK .45’s. But never shot anything with them so don’t know how they perform on game. I’m very happy with full power 10mm performance and that’s my preference.

I have shot several hogs with a 10mm. Even an FMJ will kill them graveyard dead if you put it in the brain. I mostly shot them with HSM ammo, an FMJ with a flat point. Between the eyes will knock them down even if they have a running start.

Bought a G40 10mm for up close hogs...Ammo available and good ballistics. But for often as you will shoot. Go with the the 10mm.

I got a 45 Winchester Magnum, it never did take off like the 10mm did. Mine is a LAR Grizzly 1911 model in 45WM and it is a handful, but in my contender it is accurate but loud as heck.
