Can we change Muzzleloader season to Primative Arms season

So us public land hunters with archery can still hunt into Jan?

I asked the same question several years ago and one response posted made the most sense—if we did that, then the ML hunters would be trying to get into the archery season.

Hell I'm worn out by then. Used to hunt the doe and spike season in January and haven't done that in 6-7 years. Give em hell if you can convince them!

You do realize that “primitive” would eliminate most guys here. Primitive season in some
state is no sights or release on bows and flint lock for black powder.

Nothing “primative” about my muzzle loader except the powder and bullet still has to be stuffed down the barrel.

ML should be no sights and flink lock or cap and ball.
as for the question from the OP, if you switch to a recurve or long bow

Unpopular opinion: have a season and that’s it. Archery, youth, rifle, youth, muzzleloader. Makes zero sense. Shoot a deer oct-feb and be done. Same as how I can shoot a doe until 11/19 and then again in Jan with a muzzleloader.

I’d go for that. Manage deer harvest by the tags and not different seasons. But hell, that would be too simple for a government agency.

There aint much primitive about most ( 98%) of the muzzle loaders any more. Realy they should only be allowed in firearm season, if your going to separate weapons.

I would be down with a traditional bow/traditional muzzleloader season.

We won’t have any seasons in about 2 years because CWD is going to kill all of our deer!

This archery has their own season, let muzzle loaders have their own.
