    Silencers

I am new to silencers but have finally decided to bite the bullet and purchase a few. I have done some research but wanted to get everyone's opinion on what the easiest way to go about purchasing one. Is it easiest to go into a store with a Kiosk? Or is it easier to just do everything online through somewhere like Silencer Central? Also, if I create a trust, does everyone on the trust have to send in fingerprints?

If it is easiest to go into a store with a Kiosk, I am in the Houston/Richmond area, any dealers you would recommend? Any advice would be highly appreciated.

I've purchased through Silencer Shop and Capitol Armory. I'll only go through Capitol Armory from now on. It's super easy and they ship the silencer to your door. No need to have a transfer done.

Yes each "responsible person" requires fingerprinting.

I have purchased through Silencer Shop and Silencer Central. Silencer shop was convenient because they have kiosks everywhere so doing fingerprints was pretty quick and painless. If you go to to Silencer Shops website you can search for dealers that have their kiosks near you. I got my silencer back from them in 5 months with a trust.

Silencer Central mails you a fingerprint card where you have to mail back so there is some time delay there. Its not as convenient as Silencer shop. However, they do have the EZ- pay option where you can basically layaway your silencer which is a nice deal since you're usually not getting it anytime soon. Silencer Centrals customer service was top notch too.

I had a pretty good overall experience with both of them.

Correct. You can change the trust to only one responsible person when you go make purchases and then adjust as needed after.

Stay away from silencer central. Many better options on the market than their Banish Series.

I used a local shop that ran his inventory through the silencer shop Kiosk. The process was pretty hassle free. I used the single shot trust so I didn’t have to worry about extra fingerprints.

what suppressor are you looking at?

I know where R&M is, been in there a few times. Does he have Silencers there? If he doesn't can he just order what I'm looking for? Looking to be (2) SilencerCo Omega 300s.

Yes he has a bunch in stock and if he doesn’t have what you want he can order it. I’ve got another Trash Panda and Nomad ti that I’m waiting on.

Yes the easy button is Silencer Shop and a store with a kiosk. Check out Texas Gun Club in Stafford. They are a Silencer Shop dealer and anything you order on silencer shop can be shipped to them or you can order through the store.

Curios why you say to stay away from Silencer central?

Expensive for what they are, and they are exclusive to the house brand. Silencer Shop is offering the same turn key service but offers suppressors from all manufactures. I paid half of what the Banish 30 is for a quieter suppressor with a longer reputation of quality.

I have an Omega 300 and have been very pleased. However, I would also recommend looking at the Scythe, similar but much lighter. I’m planning to purchase one as soon as I can make it by my local FFL dealer.

I'll add you can do fingerprints at home. Order a fingerprinting pad from amazon and the fingerprint cards from the ATF. I did that on my last couple.

Thanks man, I know the Texas Gun Club and not far from me. This may be the route I go. Thanks again.
