I ordered a 224 Valkyrie earlier this year from Compass Lake Engineering. It’s not exactly an economical AR15. It has a 24” Bartlein barrel, Geiselle trigger, PRS Lite stock, and a Nightforce NX8 4-32x50 scope. I have other ARs but I always wanted one higher end AR15. I finally started shooting it some recently to fire form some cases and to get an idea on what powders it might like/dislike and get an idea of where the speed will be. It will speed up but it’ll give me an idea for now. I’m using 250 new Starline brass and have noticed during decapping that the primer pockets on some aren’t as tight as they “should” be. I plan on checking them with a Ballistic Tools swage gauge soon and before I load the once fired cases. Has anyone else had issues or know of issues with Valkyries and loose primer pockets? I’ve researched it a little and have seen that it appears to be a possible problem with the Valkyrie. I read one post somewhere that the guy had 43 out of 50 once fired Starline pieces with loose pockets. If that’s the case, I sure hate to know that I’m possibly looking at only loading new Starline and trashing them after one firing.
