I have a APR 280 ai with the 20 moa rail on top. The scope that is currently on top is a Leupold VX5HD 4-20x52. The scope rings I currently on it are the Burris xtr x-high. The question I have is, what is the smallest height rings can I use and brand recommendations. These rings sit pretty high. If you have the scope and a pic of your setup it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I have a VX6hd 6-24x52 on my Bergara Ridge. Using a warne mountain tech rail and warne mountain tech rings.
I used the Warne ring height calculator and did some research before taking a gamble on the lowest rungs I could use. Everything said I could run the Warne Mountain Tech LOW 34mm rings. Sure enough, I have less than 1/4” between the barrel and scope objective.
Something to keep in mind is how company’s measure the scope ring height. Some, like warne, go from the base of the ring to the bottom of the ring cutout. Others go from the base of the ring to the mid point of the ring cutout. I don’t know the proper terminology there.
Scope ring height calculator to determine the correct ring height for the bases you are using. Input scope diameter, tube size and base height for results.

I have a VX6hd 6-24x52 on my APR with a 20 MOA rail. I went with Vortex Precision Matched Rings of amazon. They are light weight aluminum medium height .92, the lowest 34 mm rings Vortex had at the time (2021). This works perfect for my eyes. The VX5 has a 30mm tube and it looks like there is an option for .87 on amazon. See attached pic, plenty of room between the bell and the barrel on my APR.
Hope this helps.
