    M&p 22 mag

Just watched 22nplinksters video with some broad claims now I’m debating getting one. Would you get keltec or buy the new M&p 22 mag pistol? Anyone have one yet?

Have the Kel-Tec, for the price, don’t see myself ever getting the S&W.

after about 4K rounds, I’m starting to have issues with it. It might just be the magazines, but I’m not sure. May reach out to Kel-Tec and see what they say.

Should be fun and frustrating. Rimfire never seems 100% and add the length of the 22 mag I think its near impossible to make one run 100%. But would be great fun trying.

My Keltec PMR30 has been flawless once I found that it doesn’t like 30 grain rounds. Some .22 caliber firearms are jam-o-matics, or are VERY picky as to what ammo works in them and what doesn’t. My PMR30 has been the second most reliable .22 caliber firearm I’ve owned. I see no reason to replace it.

I love the .22 mag, I have pistols and rifles. I love M&Ps also but the grip on the M&P .22 mag doesn’t look like the normal M&P grip so I’m not sure I would like it. The grip is what makes me like it more than a Glock. I’ll have to wait until I can actually hold one in my hand to know.

I like m&p’s just fine and it looks so much better then the keltec. I’m going to see a bit more reviews on the M&p before I decide on it. 22plinkster had tremendous luck with his I guess, I watched a few other reviews and some fte kinda like the dud keltec I had a few years back. That’s always kinda luck I carry. You either get a good one or not. I do have the m&p 5.7 and I imagine it’s the same grip it uses as well. We’ll see what happens.

I can attest that it is never a good idea to buy a new Keltec model. They tend to have issues when they are first released. Give them a couple of years though and they tend to work the bugs out. I’ve owned an SU-16, PF9, and the PMR30. They were all good, but I did not buy any of them when they first came out.

Here lately though, this seems to be the case with more and more manufacturers. Even Sig had a lot of problems with the P365 when it was first released.

Kinda got the bug for one too. The Walther WMP looks mighty good too...just don't hold as many boolits!

Well I picked this unit up today at the azle gunshow for $575. Put 150 rounds through it and had 1 ftf on the second mag and second or third round. Shot the 30gr plated hollow points with nickel cases through it. It is lights out accurate just as the reviews said. I don’t have a red dot on it yet but was shooting 4” plates consistently at 10 yards. I did have some possibly “powder speckling” or something kick back at my face a couple times. It’s a dang loud unit too. Great trigger, grip is a little long but I already knew that just like the 5.7’s. Super pleased with it with the first 150 through it. If it does that consistently I’ll be a happy camper.

Thanks for the review. I went into Academy yesterday to see if they had one I could actually put my hands on. They didn’t, but had a 5.7 that is the same frame, grip, and size according to the expert behind the counter I don’t like the grip as well as a normal M&P, but I can see why they had to change it to get the length and the 30 round capacity of the mag. I’m still on the fence.

I was somewhat skeptical considering my luck compared to those of video reviews on YouTube. But We put over 500rounds through it yesterday plinking at our range at the ranch between my brother and I and we had 2 more ftf on first round on 2 magazine’s at the beginning. Once she was warm it ran flawless. We changed ammo to the cci fmj 1850fps for about 300 of those rounds and it was flawless with those. I’m thoroughly pleased with its performance. But I will say despite the accuracy my brother said he did not care for the long skinny awkward feeling grip. Still no red dot and haven’t cleaned it yet either.

Yeah, I know what he meant, the grip is my only hangup. I used to own Glocks exclusively, and still have a few, but the M&P feels like it was designed for my hand.

All I’m thinking about is you just shot $250 worth of ammo. Haha.

Thanks for the report. Have yet to hold one in hand, but the more I read and watch videos of them, the more I’m thinking maybe one day I’ll get rid of my Kel-Tec.

Ok, that’ll never happen, but may add one of these.

Yes sir. It was about $212. Worth. I purchased a bunch of ammo From kygc a while back and the wmr ammo I got from them was 12.99 and 13.99 but if you buy only one box shipping will get you.
