    Card Pull

Pulled the cards on four cams at home early this morning. Two trace mineral blocks, my protein feeder, and my food plot. Not many pics in the food plot, it’s almost taller than a deer ! Lots of pics on the blocks and three thousand plus on the protein feeder. I have one doe that lives there ! The bachelor group finally started eating there about two weeks ago and it was empty this morning. I’ll fill it up tomorrow when the feed store opens. Click image for larger version

A Green Cover blend called Warm Season Soil Builder. I’m hoping to be able to broadcast a fall mix into this around September 15 and crimp it. No discing, no dragging, no fertilizer. We’ll see ! Click image for larger version

Nice looking bucks. Going to be a fun year on your place.

As I was pulling the card on the cam that took the nighttime pic of the buck in the food plot I scared something that was bedded in it. It was either a hog or a fawn I think but the plot is so tall and thick it ran out and into the woods on the other side without ever giving me even a glimpse of what it was. All I know is, it wasn’t a grown deer or I could have seen it. I was thinking hog and I jerked my smokewagon hoping to get off a couple of hail marys but, alas, I never had a target !

Nice looking crop you've got there, Don. Both the deer and food plot.
