    Rick Young Bino Harness?

I've seen a couple of people mention the Rick Young Harness, and I like the minimalist approach. It's polar opposite of the bulky Sitka harness I've been using for years (bought it for western hunting, but have been using it for all purposes). I picked up a pair of Diamondback 8x32s (Thanks Arrowsmith) for a compact saddle option. The problem is I will need to figure out what to do with my rangefinder and Osmo Pocket 3/mics that I've been running in the two side pouches (and my release that I keep in the front of one pouch.)

Does anybody use the RY harness with the accessory cord kit? That would solve the rangefinder issue, but I'm not sure I'd like it dangling from my side. I'd love your opinions if you've used one.

I bought one years back and gave up on it. My FHF bino harness is pretty minimal as is. The range finder is the biggest challenge of the rick young harness. Not the answer you wanted, I'm sure. I really wanted to cut the weight with it, but it was just going to take too much experimenting and add ons to protect the glass properly and keep the rangefinder close.

I have been using it for the last 3-4 years with the range finder cord with zero issues. I chose it due to most of our hunting is in warm weather and it does not restrict any air flow.

I use the RY with the rangefinder attached. I like it better than my marsupial gear harness.

I use the RY harness but do not attach my range finder. It stays in a pocket of my archery vest.

Thanks for the feedback. I think I will give it a shot with the compact binos. The price is reasonable, and I think I can still wrap the strap around the binos and drop it in one of my other enclosed harnesses when not in use or if I want to run that for a specific hunt. The quick disconnect for the RF should work in that situation as well.

I've been running it with the attachment for 5 years or so. It can get hung up and annoying at times, but mostly i do not notice it. i do love having it right where i know it is every time i need to reach for it.

Hunting Binocular Harness & Straps - Rick Young Outdoors ($5 cheaper than Amazon, but probably made up with shipping)

I think somebody said Buccees carry's them as well.

I have tried a Rick Young, but prefer an enclosed harness. I used the old original S4 Gear harness up until this year. This season I used the Vortex Glaspack Pro model. It work great!! It does not get in the way of my bridge and offers total protection for my binos and rangefinder.
